The PSQ with Laura Kargul

Appearing alongside celebrated pianist Laura Kargul, don’t miss the PSQ at the newly finished, state-of-the-art Crewe Center for the Arts in Portland, ME. The program will begin with Beethoven’s Serenade for String Trio in D Major, a lighthearted and delectable first course for this evening of chamber music. You may even recognize one of Beethoven's most favored rhythmic motifs (short-short-short-long, as in his Fifth Symphony) in the first and last movements, March.

The celebrated Piano Quartet No.3 in C minor claims the performance's second half and contains everything you could wish for in a Brahms composition; harmonic plot twists, unrequited love, and mercurial, dark humor.
